Douglas Berman

Doug joined H.I.G. Capital in 1996. He served as a Managing Director since 1998 and Executive Managing Director since 2008. Doug is responsible for H.I.G. Capital's U.S. LBO business.

He has made investments in the manufacturing, telecommunications, and business services industries. While at H.I.G., Doug has led the acquisition of more than thirty businesses, and currently sits on the board of a number of H.I.G. portfolio companies.

Prior to H.I.G., Doug was with Bain & Company, one of the most successful strategy consulting firms in the world. While at Bain, Doug managed a variety of projects for Fortune 100 clients, developing expertise in telecommunications, financial services, and manufacturing. His clients' needs included profit improvement strategies, competitive positioning, acquisition analysis, and new business initiatives evaluation. Doug began his career at Mercer Management Consulting in Washington, D.C., where he focused primarily on the telecommunications industry.

Doug earned an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Economics from the University of Virginia.
